Last month, Chikyuuya received a call from our
old friend Raz in SriLanka.
His message, conveyed in a somber tone unusual for his character,
was that he needed our help.
As we are all aware, Dec. 26th brought suffering and loss of
life of an unprecedented magnitude to the people of the south
asia, claiming the lives of over 160,000 people. Those who were
lucky enough to survive have lost everything they own. Intensive
help is needed for restoration and aid, and though donations
have been accumulating world wide, it has been difficult to
get the needed aid to Sri Lanka because of its already being
burdened with a civil war.
We wanted to respond to our friend in need, and to send our
help where they need it most. With Sri Lanka as our target,
we will be making a charity party as described below on Jan.
22nd.
SPIRAL@Roppongi has been generous enough to contribute their
space free of charge for this event, despite it being a weekend
night. We will be asking for a \1000 entrance fee, the entirety
of which will be donated to the Tsunami Relief cause. Needless
to say there will be no guest list, so our final donation will
be the number of people on the dance floor times \1000…
plus whatever people place in the donation boxes. We will use
our friend Raz to get this money directly to the places where
it is needed, without going through a government bureaucracy
or a large donor organization.
We hope you will show your spirit of love and understanding
by making your appearance the dance floor.
